From Tia: Diddy Doodles time again, for May 2012

Hi, it's Tia and it must mean that it is Polka Doodles junior blog challenge called
Diddy Doodles!!!
As you might be aware, Im on the design team for Diddy Doodles and each month
we have a Junior Blog Challenge open to any child under the age of 16 to design
and make an item based on the theme that Nikky Hall (owner and designer of Polka
Doodles) who sponsers this challenge, Thank you Nikky.

Our task this month was to make a card/design based on the theme of:
Garden & Growing (flowers, gardening etc) chosen this month by my design team
member Caitlin.

For this card I used a standard A4 sheet of white card folded in half and stuck on
background paper printed from "All around and Everywhere" cdrom by ., printed off another background sheet from the same cdrom,
cut it down to the size I wanted and then stuck that down as well.
I then scrolled through the "Double Spinkle of Craft", again from
cdrom and saw the toadstools image (below) and decided that would fit lovely into my
design!  I shrunk the image down as it was was too big when the toadstools image and
weeds were "cut out" of the cdrom page using the Snapshot tool.  I coloured the tree
image and the toadstools/weeds using my mums promarker pens (shes brought loads
more since our last challenge so Im happy!!! lol)  I then, obviously stuck the toadstools
and weeds on to the card.
The final touch was a hot pink coloured flower, the purple large gem butterfly and
sentiment that I found in my mums stock...she will soon regret (not) for letting me loose
on her card making stash if I keep this up lol, as much as I love my mum I dont think
she will love me as much for much longer. I might get a break from looking after
her so much (as shes disabled)  ;)   I love you mum xxxxxxx

Blog Challenge 23-Four Legged Friends April 2012/entry 2

Another entry into this months Crafters Companion Blog Challenge: Four Legged Friend

For this months challenge I decided to use an A4 piece of lilac pearlescent
card and fold it in half to form a landscape card. I then added 2 different
sized strips of a darker lilac paper to the right hand side of the card to give
a lovely effect. The purple circle on which the Beatrix Potter Character
Mrs Tiddywinkle sits is from my own stock of ready cut dies brought before
I brought my own Spellbinders dies of the same design. I used glue gel and
"bent" the images slightly to give the image some character. I added some
white lace to the full width of the card but I wanted to "do something else
other than put the lace straight on to the card" so I used my Borderability dies
to form the scalloped pale pink border on which I placed the lace and then stuck
it down. te next stage was the smaller image of which I just added the image
(ready made with the circle edging) and then put the "Happy Birthday"
sentiment onto a Spellbinders die cut label shape in lilac.
Overall a lovely card...which I am entering into the Crafters Companion
Blog Challenge, number 23 for April 2012:

Creative Craft Challenges2, my entry number 2 w/c Tues 24th April 2012

I decided, again this week, to enter another card into the
Creative Craft Challenges2 Blog Challenge for this week:
Lets See Some Animal Antics!!

I made this little card (measuring a whole 3inches square) from a piece of scrap
pearlescent white card to make a wedding acceptance card for my eldest daughter
to give back one of her friends who is getting married next month. I stamped the
above image from a stamp I won in a competition (I cant remember where from)
but the stamp is part of the Holly Hill range. I just so happened to have put this stamp,
along with some basic sets before I left home one morning last week. I didnt, however,
have any promarkers or pencil crayons with me so I added a few extra lines with a fine
liner black pen from Letraset (which is always kept in my basic tool set) to the grooms
trousers, jacket lapel and pocket and his top hat. I added the red colour on the 3 hearts
using a red biro pen which again, is always in my basic tool set. The brides veil and tiara,
I wanted to do something with this but all I had left, colourwise in my basic tool set, was
a green fine liner, black & blue biros and a jelly roll pen in a stardust glitter which, of course
is just right for the veil and tiara! The little verse is on the same stamp.

I am entering the above card, as my number 2 entry, into the following

Creative Craft Challenges2 blog challenge, entry number 1, w/c:Tues 24th April 2012

Well, another challenge for me to enter!!!! Im loving this as I love to enter as many
blog challenges as I can, maybe it wont be so many this week as I have a large craft
fair to attend this coming weekend and I still need to make some stock of cards that
I will need to stock! Its at a local pub in my town so Im hoping to catch lots of local
guys that will keep me in mind for cards for their other halves/wives/girlfriends etc,
and also their children. Its a beer festival, family fun, craft fair weekend all in aid of
the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Anyway, back to this challenge: Lets See Some Animal Antics:

This was made with the hot pink gingham card folded into half making a basic
landscape A5 card, I added a Borderbility (from Spellbinders) edge of ivory paper
which I embellished with small hot pink faux pearls and a coordinating grossgrain
ribbon. The stamp is a Lily of the Valley entitled "Me and my Horse" which I
coloured in using promarkers and topped it onto a pale green
polka dot paper cie cut shape from my stash of Spellbinders. The sentiment, is from
my own stash topped onto 2 die cut shapes, the first green scalloped is from
Spllbinders and the white lacy doiley is from Marianne Designs. I topped the whole
sentiment with the same hot pink faux pearls that I used on the Borderbility.
The overall look is both simple but effective for which I am entering into the following

Crafters Companion Blog Challenge 23 (April 2012)

Another challenge for me, "Four Legged Friends" from Crafters Companion
Blog for April 2012.

I used a mouse stamp from an old set Id got, its from the Cute Companions
range, a set called "Wonderful News" drawn by Jayne Nestorenko.

The card is from my stash which came as a set including green and pink cards.
The pearls, lace and sentiment are also from my stash. The scalloped circles
were cut using a nestabilitie, Grande Nestabilie and my Grande Calibur.

I am entering this into the monthly blog challenge:

A recent card I have made....

I have used free images from a craft magazine for this card. The backing paper is from my
own stash of 12x12 papers. The sentiment shapes are cut from nestabilites or Marianne design

Blog Challenge for Polka Doodles "Pretty in Pink"

Pen & Circle Club stamps and cdrom

Well, what can I say, this is again, a wonderful design set from Nikki and the
team at Polka Doodle..I really enjoyed using these stamps, the quality is second
to none and the cdrom with a mini selection of papers and alphabets are so lovely
that its a real joy to scroll through and look at all of the beautiful designs from Nikki.

Here is my card, using my Grand Calibur dies and machine I cut the shaped card
and the papers, and the pink and cream borders are cut using my borabilities again,
from spellbinders.
I coloured the images using my promarkers, for the sentiment stamp I used a Dew
Drop Momento ink pad in a sage green.

Creative Craft Challenges2 *** Entry number 2!!

I decided yesterday, whilst making the boys birthday card entry that I really enjoyed
making the card, to make another one, but this time for a girl. I aim these cards at
ages 4-7 maybe 8 for the girls. I had the  all the items including the papers in my stash
so I didnt have to use or purchase anything else. Im trying to do that as much as
possible at the moment to use up my stash as I have that much! lol well dont alot of
other crafters find the same?
Anyway, my 2nd entry for the sketch challenge wc Tuesday 10th April is:

I really love this paper I used for both the backing paper
and the "decoupage". the sketch layout is really versatile
and I hope I win.

Hiya and welcome to a windy but clearing grey to lovely blue sky day.
What a night, I hardly slept because of the wind and rain. A loud bang
near to my front door didnt help at around 4.15am but I certainly wasnt
going to open my door to look!  It turned out to be my brown recycle
compost bin going will have to stay like that until my ex calls
later this afternoon to collect our daughter as Im not strong enough to pick
it back up.  Anyway, Ive been busy this last few weeks as I said in my last
post but I wasnt happy enough to look at the blog challenges as I was too
unhappy not to be able to enter! Ive got another craft fair on the last weekend
of this month so Ive been making cards for then but also for friends and family
Anyway, for this weeks challenge for Creative Craft Challenges2 was to design a
card using the allicated sketch as shown on their blog.
Here is my challenge:

Cards that I have made whilst having no computer

Well, I havent been resting on my "laurels" as such whilst having no computer,
but I also havnt been sitting making cards all the time, Ive rested, watched tv
and made a small amount of jewellery. I will now post some cards on her and
in the gallery page of this blog for you to see just some of the cards Ive made.

Im Back!!!!!

I thought it was about time that I let you know why I've not
posted for a while.....Ive had no computer lol.  I broke the
main laptop and then I thought whilst that was being repaired,
I would use the main pc with tower and moniter. How wrong
was I!! The tower turned on and then turned itself off straight
away so, of course, I was not happy ;(
Basically I was told, after 5 weeks that it wasnt worth having
either the laptop or the tower repaired so I claimed through my
house insurance and went out to buy a new laptop....I was
not happy having to wait so long...almost 6 weeks from breaking
to coming home with a new laptop.
Still, all is well now and I can start blogging again!
