A Wild Animal....

Good Morning peeps,
Its a cold grey morning here in Staffordshire & shows no sign, yet, of clearing up to let the sun through.

My card, this post, is a birthday card that I made yesterday for one of my daughters friends from college. Amber is a good friend to Tia, & even though they really only spend one day together Amber still chose to take Tia to a rock concert!! It was a birthday present from her parents last year (a popular rock band that were playing at the O2 arena in Birmingham). Tia was so excited about the whole package as she was also staying overnight at Ambers.

Back to the card, its a tri fold A4 card in Black 280gsm matted & layered with silver holographic card, The topper is an image by one of the very talented artists from Fitztown.

I matt & layered the wolf image on to black jewelled coordinations card, then a gloss black card, silver holographic then the gloss black card again, in all, there were 4 layers + the image. I added the ribbon & buttons to finish the card. The verse is a belated one (but funny) as it was Ambers birthday yesterday (but Tia didnt tell me until Tuesday morning & that she would only be seeing her today Wednesday)..... Sometimes I do wonder where Tia left her common sense..................................................

A whole bunch of flowers.......

Good Afternoon peeps,

Yes another blog from me!!! About time though ;0

Ive made this card especially for the Elisabeth Bells Challenge which this months challenge is all about lots of flowers.
It won't be long, and May will be here.
You know what they say don't you?  .... "April Showers, bring May Flowers!!!"

All entries must be using an Elisabeth Bell's image and must include at least 3 flowers.

I had no problem finding a lovely spring image of one of Elisabeth's girls from the "Simpler Times" cd by Elisabeth, but brought to the craft world by Kay Sue Designs. The image I chose is called "A Pair of Bunnies" and is very apt for the late Easter that we had last week (20th April). The flowers I chose were from my own stash, some of which is fairly new & some quite old. Its not often I use so many because of the high cost of postage nowadays. This card though will be posted along with 2 others as its for a long time friend of mine, Lynn, its her birthday this next month & as we have been friends for over 40+ years now this is ideal.
Some of the flowers I used are from the website Wild Orchid Crafts. I must say that its a wonderful website
with loads of different types of flowers that save you so much money rather than going to the likes of mainline craft superstores. They also have a Wild Orchid Challenge Blog and I am excited to be able to enter with this card (see below).

I am entering this card into a Guest Design Team Member Call at The Digi Bells DT Blog, where the theme is: Spring & Summer themed

I am entering this card in to the following challenges:

Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog: Theme is "Lots of Flowers"

Wild Orchid Challenge Blog: Theme is "Challenge 101, - Use 3 Flowers"

Crafting From the Heart Challenge Blog: Theme is (as always) is "Anything Goes"

My giveaway prize and #8 Stampin For The Weekend Challenge

Some good news peeps, I have won a major giveaway sponsored by  Crafters Companion on Facebook recently to celebrate them reaching a fabulous milestone of 20 thousand "llikers". There was a prize a day over the week & I was lucky enough to be picked out of a hat on one of the days, even though I had entered in all of them, my name was the first of 4 other ladies who had entered who won a set as in the 3 photos below.....  The oval dies in the middle of the first photo are what I used in the card I made for my DT card (see below for details) on behalf of
Stampin' For The Weekend Challenge Blog,. An excellent result from the dies too!!!! Even though I used 2 of the dies on a thick cardstock which came ready embossed too it still cut really well & wasnt really a problem to pop out of the die afterwards.  I will post some creations when Ive made some just solely with the dies & sentiments (well probably add some ribbon & buttons but no images).  OK, now scroll down for my Design Team creation for this fortnights blog challenge card please.....

Good Morning peeps

A challenge for everyone this time, whether you like buttons or bows you must add at least one of each to your card for this challenge as the theme is:  Buttons and Bows!!!

We have been very lucky this time to be sponsored by The Paper Nest Dolls

Right then this week we want to see buttons and bows on your crafty projects so grab that ribbon and off you go !
Oh please don't forget that you MUST include some form of stamping rubber or digital and please remember that you may enter ONLY ONE creation.

My card for this challenge is made using cardstock from my own stash which I had already.
Its an 8x8 inch card square card for which I must smile for as its the usual size I make now.
I am not happy though with my finished creation this time as I am sure Ive gone overboard with the ribbon bows that I made.... I loved all the colours that I chose though.  speaking of colours all the pastel goings on within the card make all my efforts worthwhile.  The embossed handmade paper is from a 12x12 piece of paper that I have had for some years now. (I brought a box of 50 pieces of 12x12 handmade papers that came in a beautiful black & white paper covered box).

The shaped buttons are from Crafty Ribbons which I won in a blog giveaway. All ribbon are from my stash which included some smaller pieces that a normal person would probably throw away but I put all my ribbon off cuts (above 2 inches in length) in a washed jam jar so I always have to hand....and looks quite pretty on a shelf.....

The words "Thank You Daughter" are from a set of dies called
Mummy and Daddy Son & Daughter Step
Set of 2 Sizes
Size of small words 110mm x 11mm (approx)
Size of large words 150mm x 15mm (approx)

only £12-00
(free p&p)
Which are from the Robert Addams website with free p&p.
Anything??? I cant think of anything so Im going to sign off now & have some well earned breakfast,... Catch you soon peeps and I hope you like my creation...... ;0 xx

Crafting Musketeers Mid Way challenge reminder....

Its time for the Mid Way Challenge reminder over at the blog.
This month we are being sponsored by the very talented

The theme which we have chosen this month for you to take up is Monochrome

As a member of the DT, sometimes we are given items from their collection for us to
promote their products & this time we were allowed to choose an item(s) up to a
specific amount. I decided to go with a digital paper pack in beautiful mint greens colours
& patterns. This Minty-Madness Paper Pack is so Fresh/Beautiful and Feminine,
perfect for all female ages.
I chose to use a digi image that I already had (from Bugaboo Stamps
as I wanted to give this finished card to one of my nieces for her birthday at
the beginning of April (hence the name Sam on the card).
The circle shaped easel card was cut with Spellbinders Decorative Circles
dies which I have owned for a while now.

Please pop over to our Challenge Blog to check out what the other members of
the Design Team have created with their versions of the Monochrome theme,,,,

Clean & Simple for a challenge blog

Good Morning peeps
Its a NEW Challenge time over again at SFTW

I had such a hard job with all the rubber stamps I own, so
I decided to create two really Clean & Simple cards using the stamps
that you see & the information that I have placed on the photos
as in the copyright information & the manufacturer/designer
of the verse & image itself.
Both cards are A5 in size and using white linen effect card stock
from my stash of Papermill Direct
To be honest all of the items that I have used on both cards have come from
my own stash as I have decided to use more of my craft stash instead of buying new,

I hope you enjoy my cards and our challenge,
but please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

It's a girl.....

Yes a cutie large card for a special little girl born back in March, to a very lovely lady called Liz, who is a young carer's leader here in Staffordshire.

Recipe for this:

The baby panda is a digi image from 2 Cute Ink, coloured in with Promarkers & Flexmarkers
A handmade 8x8 inch card stock (using white linen effect card from Papermill Direct)
Baby Pink 12 x 12 inch card stock (again from Papermill Direct)
12 x 12 inch scrapbook paper in Baby Pink with the words "oh sweet" repeating
Different shades & shapes of Pink buttons from Crafty Ribbons
From my own stash:
Baby Girl word pink button
