DigiStamps4Joy DT card for Challenge #72

Good Morning peeps.   Well its been a long few weeks since my last DT post. I don't know where to start so I wont carry on about that.

This months post over at DigiStamps4Joy Challenge Blog is set by one of our DT members, Asmah, who chose the challenge of "Fancy Folds With A Handmade Flower".
I chose to create a 4 fold "Star" card, mainly in honour of our new royal birth-Prince George of Cambridge. Using a pale blue card that I had brought from (along side some other colours inc white). I scored each of the 4 x A4 pieces of blue card in half to make the usual A5 portrait stand of base card. I then added 12 x 12 inch papers with one of them being the words "it's a boy" printed in white over the base colour blue. I used that 12 x 12 paper to place on 2 of the cards, another 12 x 12 paper in pale yellow with stuffed toys on one and on the last of the 4 cards I used 2 sheets of 8 x 8 inch papers again in shades of blue. All of these papers were from my own stash.
I then added the 3 digi images from our own DigiStamps4Joy shop (Babies & Toddlers folder) called A-La-Pram, Baby Tags (English but South African available) & lastly the lovely image called Nap Time. I coloured the images with Promarkers & used Graph It pens on the skin tone. On the Pram & Nap Time I also used Sakura Gelly Roll pens to add a metallic effect plus one of their glitter pens on the baby's eye lashes.
All 4 cards were stuck together to form the Star using ultra strong clear double sided tape  brought direct from the manufacturer, to aid the problem of alignment I covered the tape with a wet glue so its easier to move the card into the perfect placement. I then added the die cut flower that I had layered & stuck together with glue gel & added a flower shaped pearlescent faux flower in pale yellow.
A bit of a warning, there are 17 photos so I could capture every piece of this creation to show you properly.... ;0  Im a bit obsessive in that matter.

A second Elisabeth Bell image, a rocker card this time.....

Yes a rocker card, cut from a Spellbinders Decorative Grand Circles using my Grand Calibur A4 die cutting machine. This image of Elisabeth Bell's is called "Apple Thyme" and in true tradition I coloured her using Promarkers in lush green, grass green, blossom pink (on her tights) and then Graph It pen colours Tomato red with Halloween & Honey (on her top). I used 2 colours of Kanban spider web netting (red & lime green) with the same colours of feathers. I added an apple shaped yellow shaped apple tied with lush green satin ribbon & on the opposite side I tied a large bow with a red saddle stitched green ribbon, both of these were fixed in to place using Pinflair glue gel. (Both of these meet the requirements of one of the blog challenges that I have entered this card in to).
"Apple Thyme's" hair was coloured with Promarkers in the colours of black, cool grey 4 & 5 and a Sakura white gelly roll pen.

Elisabeth Bell image multi fold card

Good Afternoon peeps, well another glorious day has passed, after the early rain again that is. Ive had a lovely day with my eldest daughter, hubby & youngest son visiting this lunchtime (the eldest grandson was out with his friend).  Ive had to go to bed for an hour though as I was knackered to say the least!! Oh, my new oven has been fitted too as the other one had a faulty element as it kept working loose & catching on the ceramic fan so making a horrible din! As the same model wasn't available I had a surprise of an upgrade (foc too!!).

The card I want to tell & show you today is a card I made for a friend that I have made on Facebook.
Donna is a fantastic friend & we regularly talk on the phone even though we've never met. I regard Donna with the respect that she regards me so we get on really well.
The image is from Elisabeth Bell (designed & drawn by) and is really beautiful (as are all of her illustrations), coloured with pastel Promarkers to compliment the backing papers which are from an A5 booklet that came with a magazine some years ago.
The sentiment is one that I found in my stash ( as is the little verse (that must be a stamp but I cant remember who made it). The butterfly has been cut twice from my Spellbinders Papillion dies, once in pearlescent white card & a pearlescent lilac card. I attached the paper roses with Pinflair glue gel. The ribbon is from my own stash.
A beautiful card if I say so (again lol) fact most of my cards I really love.. ;)

Blue's, Flowers & Bows with "Bubbles"

Good evening peeps.

Ive had a busy couple of days here at home where Ive rested for one day then today I sat & made the following card...
I decided to celebrate seeing Nikky Hall (owner of Polkadoodles) on Create & Craft TV both this morning & the afternoon show. I was also lucky enough, to have had my email read out & then pulled out of the cup too so I will receive a card made & coloured by Nikky herself!!  Im so pleased as I have emailed in almost every time Nikky has been on demonstrating.

By celebrating I mean by using an image of one of her own digis called Bubbles which you can buy from Polkadoodles . I wanted to make her on a blue themed card so used an A3 piece of blue 250gsm card from Paper Mill Direct, which is
a company that produces top quality card, paper & envelopes.  I cut the card with my Grand Decorative Circles dies to produce a circle card but as I wanted to make an easel card I need to add another circle of the same size so I could attach the image to it. You can see I cut 3 different sizes in the Grand Decorative Circles as I wanted to matt & layer it properly.
I coloured the image using a combination of Graph It pens, Promarkers & Flexmarkers. The hat pins are a mixture brought from Ebay & a local sewing shop (which has since closed down).
The flowers are from Darice and are paper petals called finishing accents & are available in different colours. (They were amongst a prize collection of craft goodies I had won last year & I forgot all about them when my adaptations building work was about to start and that was almost a year ago!!). That's another story anyway.... I have loads of stash that I cant get to upstairs as Tia (my 16 year old messy daughter has covered my stash with all of her "stuff"....

DT card for DigiStampes4Joy Challenge #71

This is my DT card for this months blog challenge, #71, over at DigiStamps4Joy. The theme this month is "Button It Up Shapely" - Create any shaped card and add button(s) as embellishment. This starts on 10th July & ends on 23rd July. Im on team B so the teams creations go live on 17th July.

Ive created an oval easel card using my Spellbinders Decorative Edge Ovals cutting dies, the Tulip Basket digi stamp image from here. I coloured the image using my Promarkers & a couple of my new Graph It alcohol pens (they offer a rich vibrant colour & depth). I then trimmed round the image leaving a small white edge. I then coloured in a large decorative oval with a rose pink Promarker pen and glued it to the main card base of the easel. The next thing to do was to glue the digi image to the smaller white oval. I then added a pink marble effect button that had been threaded with a small piece of pink raffia & secured in a knot. The finishing touch is the sentiment which reads "Precious & few are friends like you"....
