Guest Blogger write up....

Good Morning peeps,

Just a quickie this morning as I do have 2 other creations to make today.  This is a card that I made as a Guest Blogger for Stamping Dragon Designs blog. My blog post can be read here:
The Dragons Den blog

The image was a freebie that I received to not only to make a creation with, but to keep as "payment" for blogging for them. It is available to buy here as a set of 3 images for only £2!!: Tractor & Trailer 3 image set

The tractor & trailer were sized down to fit 4 images on one A4 sheet, coloured using Promarkers alcohol pens & Sakura Gelly Roll metallic pens & then cut round the whole shape leaving a 3mm white surround.
The backing paper is just handmade paper pieces just torn up & glued in to place where ever they went & the letters to form "Have Fun" are cut from my Memory Box cutting dies using scrap bits of different coloured (in masculine colours) card. They are stuck down with Collal Glue Gel as foam pads wont stick for long on handmade paper.

I hope you like!! I will be back tomorrow morning with the New Digi Stamp Release for Digi Stamps 4 Joy of which I am on the Design Team.
See you soon peeps ;) x

Pure Whiteness ...........

I decided that I was going to make the card, using "Misteri as a Fairy" within a design specified around the theme of "Pure Whiteness with only the image being coloured"... hence lots of white, texture and only the image coloured.  I hope you like the finished result as much as I do. I am really pleased with my outcome/design. This creation was made on Saturday 140913 as my DT creation for the new release of the image on this card, on Sunday 150913.
If you have any questions regarding what I have used to create this beautiful card, then please ask by writing a comment below. If I was to write it down what I used & how I made it then I would be having you reading for another half hour lol ;0 xx
Enjoy and don't forget to check out all of the new release digi stamps...

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Ribbons Challenge Blog #61. Theme is pure whiteness (the only colourful thing can be image, everything else has to be white)

A card using a designer that I havent used for a long time.....

It has been such a long time since I used an image by the wonderful designer & artist Joanna Sheen, as I had brought her latest cd rom set about a month ago I decided to see if there was an image on one of the 3 discs that I thought would be suitable for a 50th birthday.  I wanted to create a lovely cute ish card for one of my dearest friends, Julie, who is 50 later this month. Julie & I used to work together, f& lived just round the corner from each other. We worked together for almost 4 years but we are still good friends some 20+ years.  I wanted to make Julie a special card as we have been through so much together, more so when we worked together but little things since & not just because she is a real friend.....

The Triple cd rom of House Mouse Collection is pictured above if you are not sure which one I am on about.

I fell in love with the card when I had finished it & I hope you like it as much as I do. I had no idea what size or type of card I wanted to create for a special friends birthday, more so, her 50th!!!! lol.

I chose a beautiful design on Disc 2, which has the Mice & Friends, At Home, Just For Fun, At The Seaside, Sweet Treats and everyday decoupage, bookmarks sentiments & embellishments.
I looked through all the images first & then decided on what image I wanted to use. I decided and chose the matching backing paper too. The pink backing paper & both the sentiment in the center of the ribbon tied card and the oval shaped sentiment on the front are from another cd by a different designer. The flowers, faux pearl flowers, the fabric flowers, the organza ribbon and the white card base are all from my own stash.
The card was a real joy to make & I really hope that Julie loves it as much as me. I think it deserves a box though as I have to post it... only 35 miles away but with not driving anymore I cant hand deliver it. I do wish I could though as I would love to see both Julie & her husband, Rob.

I am entering this into the following blog challenges:

Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog: The theme is "Ribbons" lots of them apparently!

New Release over at DigiStamps4Joy...A SPECIAL NEW RELEASE TOO, read on to find out what....

Yes,  special edition of new release too... Our wonderful designer/main artist JenLee has just drawn her 500th digistamp for DS4J......
It is called "The Choristers" and is available to buy HERE. This is what the design looks like (obviously you wont get the watermark on the image when you buy it)

Here is what the other artist Margaret has said about it...

New digistamps Sunday 15 September and a SPECIAL announcement!
Before I show you the new releases I have something special to tell you .....
Our main artist JENLEE has just drawn her 500th digistamp for DS4J!!
Isn't that an absolutely fabulous milestone?
WELL DONE JEN - all of us at DS4J are proud of you!
To celebrate I am giving away the 500th digi to ONE lucky randomly drawn commenter on this post!

Pop over to our main blog, DigiStamps4Joy to be in with a chance to win the 500th image. Its a beautiful design & well worth the money if you just want to buy it instead of waiting to see if you
have won the delightful digi. ;0

I received an email from Margaret, as did everyone else in the Design Team late on Wednesday night... it was an image called Misteri As A Fairy. We got issued with different images from all of the new releases so the variety would be covered by all of the DT. None of us knew what the other DT members received so it made the whole crafting experience more interesting as none of us knew which one is the 500th!!

I decided that I was going to make the card, using "Misteri as a Fairy" within a design specified around the theme of "White on White with only the image being coloured"... hence lots of white, texture and only the image coloured.  I hope you like the finished result as much as I do. I am really pleased with my outcome/design.

DT application for a manufacturing company's blog....

Good Evening peeps,

This creation of mine is entitled "Autumnal Dream" and is created using rubber stamps from Creative Expressions. It is an 8.25 x 8.25 inch square and using Papermill Direct card for the base card (using 2 x A4 pieces of white linen effect card at 225gsm) and topping that with bright orange smooth card at 250gsm as a bright layer to work on.
I then topped the orange card with a brown & gold foil effect embossed card from Hunkydory to add some dimension & pattern to the matt & layering. This was then topped with a pale lemon pearlescent card, a layer of beige dotty embossed card from my own stash and then finally adding the stamped images which are worked on a white smooth card.
I stamped the leaves stamps with a mixture of Memento inks including orange, red, green & sand colours and stamped them in some sort of order. I wanted to give the impression of fallen leaves but also as a background paper effect.  I then stamped the tree image with a brown Memento ink and went over the outlines & small amounts of shading with a Walnut Promarker. This was done to bring out the tree image so it stands out of the card more than the leaves. The next stage was to stamp an ivy trail in green Archival ink, followed by stamping the sentiment that came with the set, again in brown Memento ink to the left of the tree. The fabric sticker that I matt & layered in the same bright orange card as the card itself was stuck down using foam pads. This sticker is from my own stash as is the word "Autumn". I must admit, as an after thought, was to add real life acorns, a conker & dead leaves that I had collected late last year & had put away safe so I had to go rummaging in my stash which is still packed away from when I had my disability adaptations work done late last year. (That's a very long story & as to why my stash is still not sorted)...
I hope you like the finished project.... ;)
I am entering this card in to the blog challenge for a Design Team application for Papermill Direct manufacturing company's blog & challenge blog. Wish me luck please... ;) xx

It is CMT (Charcot-Marie-Tooth) Awareness Month

Good Morning Peeps,
Well its a quite cool but dry morning here & I am trying to dry some washing but I am doubtful that it will dry.  Reggie, my dog, is sure missing Tia every morning now she's actually started college. We will find out today though what days she has off to home study/work. The class is to be split into 2 teams & they have different days off so 4 days a week the teacher gets a smaller class to teach the art & design too. This way also, it costs me less in paying out for Tia's bus fares (even though it is only £1 each way). I need to know tonight, what days off Tia will get so I can rearrange Tia's genetic blood was supposed to be tomorrow at 4pm but Tia doesn't get home until 5pm & the last appointment is 4.15pm.
I am having Tia tested to see wether she has got the same genetic condition as me & my eldest daughter, Steph.
For those who are relatively new to my blog -  I have an inherited genetic disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth syndrome, otherwise known as, Hereditary Motor and Sensory Neuropathy, and I have one of the many types that have been discovered. I am not the only one in my family with this, my dad is the instigator (lol) of it, as we haven't been able to track it down any further back, with 3 out of the 4 children having inherited it.  My eldest sister, my brother & me., with my brother having 2 out of his 4 children (the youngest is too young to test) have it. My eldest sister only had one child & he is fine, our other sister, Carole, could be a carrier & possibly passed it on to her 2 daughters, and in turn they could pass it on to any children they have. The youngest niece is the only one to have children & both are not showing any signs yet but its still early days with them.

September is CMT Awareness Month so it is very apt that I should be telling you about the issues going on in my home & family at the moment.

Progressive detiriation of strength, ability to do the normal stuff of opening jars & tins, turning taps on & off, opening doors with round handles, opening small tablet bottles etc , muscle wasting with nerve damage are the norm with CMT....

Please take a few minutes/half an hour browsing through the CMT website & gain information about the types of CMT through to how it affects every single person quite differently. Me, for example, as I have other different types of health issues I suffer quite badly. My health has got worse quite quickly over the past 7 years. This, I am sure, is from when I got assaulted & pushed off a front door step, fell on to gravel driveway over 6 foot back from the door.... I thought I had broke my leg, but after a trip down to the local small A & E, it was determined that I had badly bruised the back of my bum/top of my leg.  From that "fall" my back started getting a lot worse, with more pain having to start to take serious medication on the lines of Morphine, Codeine & a serious painkiller called Pregabalin along with 1000mg of Paracetamol up to 4 times a day. This only numbs the pain, it doesn't stop it niggling or screaming with pain if I do too much. I have only got to stand & unload the dishwasher or reload it, or even cook something on the hob. I am in agony just after a few minutes of standing & watching or stir the food.  If I go out on my mobility scooter, I am so tired, even a trip to one shop can set me back roughly 3 hours but if I go out & do the main shop I can be so tired that within half an hour of getting home I can be asleep. It depends on the weather too....when its extremely hot for the UK I will do more or less nothing but sleep.  CMT is a progressive muscle & nerve wasting disease and basically I cant get any better, only worse. With so many spinal issues going on, along with the CMT, I reckon I have got, roughly, 6+ more years before I have to have an electric wheelchair... I will not have any strength in my upper arms to propel myself around in a normal wheelchair. The downside? Well it is going to be: having carer's come in more often than the twice a day now, with a lot more care, hoisting into my electric reclining bed, personal care to the intense... all of this I am certainly not looking forward to but these things will have to be done.
CMT is basically a lesser known form of Muscular Dystrophy. Yes, a lot lesser known form, hence the awareness month. Please, lets get the word out about CMT, keep the blue ribbon photo as your profile picture on Facebook, talk about it, Twitter too please (I am not a member of that). Donate if you can afford to... please ;)

2 cards for boys (or young guys)

Good Evening Peeps,

Yes, two cards for boys/young guys tonight. The first one is a card I have made for my only step grandson. I have 2 grandsons, one step grandson & 4 step granddaughters & another step grandchild on the way... that is what happens when you take on someone else's children for almost 10 years. There are 4 step kids but I only lived with 3 of them but out of those 3, the 2 daughters are the ones with the children.  Cameron is the only boy & also the eldest out of the step grandchildren. He has been competing in Motor Cross for the past few years & last year came up trumps with winning the age group for the area that he competes in. I am very proud of him (and of all the kids, young & old)
but Motor Cross is such an expensive sport.
Anyway, for his 12th birthday card I wanted to use a sporty image for him & this Kenny K downloads image is the perfect one. I coloured him in Promarkers, Graph It alcohol pens & Sakura glitter and metallic pens giving the edge on the bike & his protective gear including protective suit.
The easel card was made using Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Circles & plain circles of the same range of cutting dies. The smaller circles were cut using the standard Nestabilities dies range from Spellbinders again.  The finishing touch were the die cut words from the Tattered Lace sentiments die set & the little silver coloured bike charm.

I am entering this Kenny K Motor Cross easel card into the following challenges:

My Mums Craft Shop Challenge #9 - Boys Only

The next card is one that is for sale, I made a couple of weeks ago but I have not posted on here before. It is made from the Hunkydory "Cards For Boys" card making kit.
I folded an A4 sheet of card into a tri fold card base & added bits from the kit to form the layout as in the photos below. The verse I found on a Hallmark Design Studio software that I have installed on my laptop. This is a large card measuring roughly 8 x 8 & half inches when folded for the envelope.
There is nothing else to say about this card apart from:
yo ho matey and a bottle of rum ;)

Using a free digi image to enter a blog challenge competition..........

Good evening peeps,

Yes you have read that right, I have used a free digi to enter this weeks Polkadoodles Challenge Blog where, if you email Nikky Hall, owner & designer at Polkadoodles has loving & generously given us the chance for a free fairy from her beautiful Christmas cd called Angelberry Christmas.
For this weeks challenge main rule please carry on reading....

To quote: "This week's challenge is Fairy Wings! Angels count too!
So we want you to join in and show us all your favourite Fairy/Angel creations this week BUT we have a fantastic twist on this for you .... if you wish to enter the challenge you MUST USE an Angelberry Digistamp".
I have used a free Angelberry digi image that Nikky was giving away to crafters who emailed her before the end of yesterday, 5th September 2013, anyone else who hasn't requested this image will have to use an image from the Angelberry cd.
I have just made a decorative ovals spellbinders dies cut around the Angelberry image that I had previously coloured with a mixture of Graph It, Flexmarkers & Promarkers pens & added the glitter
effect with a Sakura gelly roll pen in Clear Star.

Using the decorative oval die I cut out the necessary pieces to make an easel card. The stopper is made from a wide decorative gold edged satin ribbon topped with a decorative matt gold effect satin ribbon with a picot edging.  The little sentiment just says "from me to you".
A clean & simple card made with love for a friend yet to be chosen from a long list I have...

Update on my crafting life...

Good Morning peeps,

Well after yesterdays glorious weather (I only ventured in to my back garden) as I was crafting until my morning carer arrived then I sat at the laptop designing inserts & a page full of Christening invites
that I need this next week (early on). I have 4 items to make this weekend, it might be 5 as I really need to join in with the new stamp release over at DigiStamp4Joy which I didn't have time to make last weekend.  (Naughty naughty I know but I have been told its not a ruling that you create for every new release).
I have only had 2 bad days this week where I haven't wanted to craft, I did get distracted a couple of times by my daughter, Tia, wanting money for this & that, with her stunning me quite late last night that she would like some money on Saturday to go trouser/jean shopping with her best friend Sam. Tia, apparently, has realised that a lot of her trousers don't fit her anymore, as in too short in the leg.
What a time to go clothes shopping....the last weekend before starting college.!!
What I have created this week? Well, I have made quite a few things this week & also a lot of communicating with a couple of clients. I have secured an order for 30 Christening invites though. It is my first time of making Christening invitations but I know how to create them as she had seen a beautiful invite that she wanted "copying" but I cant or rather, Wont, copy as its unethical to say the least. I have a completely different ribbon to the lace on the photo & obviously different wording but I am using a high grade pearlescent paper for the writing, not plain white.
I have made a 30th Wedding Anniversary for my son-in-laws parents, a "wife" card for the same couple from the husband, a 50th mans birthday card, rugby themed birthday card for my son-in-law, a birthday card for his nan, I did start a "autumnal" themed project for a DT (Design Team) application for Creative Expressions but now I have the time to finish it off I cant find it!!! What a pain in the rear that is...

Well the news I have, is that I am now a member of the DT for Crafting Musketeers Challenge blog!!!!!!!!!!! That makes the 3rd design team I am a member of now & I am so pleased to be on all of them. Heads up to DigiStamps4Joy, Stampin For The Weekend and of course Crafting Musketeers
I have started on SFTW but I dont start on Crafting Musketeers until October & I have to create my project earlier as I have to have an operation on my left hand in the first week of Oct.

Anyway, I have to show you some of the cards that I have made this last few days -

A Birthday card for a Facebook friend of mine, Helz Cuppleditch,
who has in fact, designed & hand drawn the image before production
made in to the die cut card making kit that I had brought.

A joke rugby theme Birthday card for my rugby playing son-in-law
A 30th (Pearl) Wedding Anniversary card that was commissioned
by the husband for his darling wife. (My son-in-laws parents)
A cute but heart warming 3rd Wedding Anniversary that I have made for my eldest
daughter & hubby, (Steph & Martin) using the Crafters Companion Party Paws kit

A birth Congratulations card, commission order from my eldest sister as her only son
& wife have a baby in the house now, little Katie-Louise came into this world safely.
This is a layout of how I would have sent the card to the new parents. The pictures that my
eldest sister & her husband eventually chose was photographed in the next 2 photos....
The front of the Birth Congratulations card that my eldest sister & hubby decided
was the version that they wanted to send to their eldest son & wife on the
birth of their first child Katie-Louise

This is the inside of the card with the simple but sweet phrase to congratulate
the birth of baby Katie-Louise, with a gorgeous pencil drawing print of a
mummy Zebra & foal
