Winter Bliss over at Lacy Sunshine Challenge #50.

The image from Lacy Sunshine is a beautiful lady called
Winter Angel Food.

As the theme of the progressive challenge over at the challenge is Winter Bliss
I knew I had to use shades of blues...
Coloured with a mixture of Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Sakura Gelly Roll Glitter pens.
Ribbons & Buttons are from Crafty Ribbons with everything else being from my
own stash. The base card is a white linen effect card from Papermill Direct.

A Sweet Pea Stamped image card

Hiya peeps

Today I have made a card using a stamp that I won early last year but havent used it before!!!
I love it though, she is called Tummy Time drawn by the fabulous Elisabeth Bell for Sweet Pea Stamps.
I coloured her with Promarkers and die cut the shaped backing card (from my own stash) using Grand Labels 1 from Spellbinders. The blue ribbon with silver coloured thread going diagonal is from Crafty Ribbons. A cheeky sneak peep at a new ribbon due to go live on the website very soon,
is the "it's the little things" & "hope this day is as special as you are" plus one other phrase/sentence, all in a lovely blue, that Im not going to tell you what it says... lol. .At the same time there will be a pinky red coloured writing ribbon of the same type released, with different phrases/sentences on.  Both are really beautiful and a must have!! I shall blog about the new ribbons up on their release to the website ;0

Im in the garden....

Hiya peeps,

Today is my DT make for Crafty Ribbons Challenge with the theme of "Anything But A Card, dont forget the ribbon also "

I wanted to make something completely different and had a little mdf plaque which I had previously painted with white gesso. I went over this white gesso with a set of paint pens I had previously brought, they are called Zig Woodcraft Marker Set. This fantastic set of paint markers are an easier way to paint with both bullet & chisel tips. Im not going to emphasize any more on these as it will bore most of you.  I used a digi stamp from Lacy Sunshine called Sleepytime Buzzlee and coloured him with Promarkers, added die cut metallic green leaves, 3 stacked flowers with pearl effect centers and wrote the words "Im in the garden...." in gold metallic woodcraft paint pen from the set. I then selected various ribbons from my Crafty Ribbons stash some following the theme of gardening with Nature Ribbon - Pansy print and Nature Ribbon - Butterflies with other ribbons, including the NEW Cotton Lace manufactured the old fashioned way in France. Various colours are available. I also used 2 colours of Basics 2 Go Sheer Organza 9mm Ribbon.  The surprise on this make is a SNEAK PEEK at a new viscose lace yet to be released.  They will be available to buy soon..... I am not too sure exactly when though Im sorry to say. All I know is that there are some gorgeous colours in both the cotton and viscose lace.!!! The last thing for me to do was to just tie them on to the rope hanger attached to the plaque. I am, though, yet, to varnish this item before it goes outside but it will more than likely get posted off to Ribbon HQ in Dorset ready for the Spring Exhibitions in both Europe and the UK, where I wont see it again unless I attend the exhibitions this coming spring at the NEC in Birmingham which is the nearest to me, but I have made this out of lots and lots of love!!!!!  I hope you like it as much as I love it lol ;0

Victorian Lizabeth with golden theme

Hiya peeps

Yes I was late with this card!!! I was not happy when I realised that it was not the date I was expecting and knew that I was going to be late posting this to the Facebook group.  Oh well, I will definitely have to buckle down and get ahead with my DT cards as I definitely dont want to be late again, ever!!
Back to the card....  At Crafting Musketeers Challenge Blog this month were were very lucky to be sponsored by the fabulous (and my favourite artist of digi's) Heather Valentin of Lacy Sunshine. The theme this month I chose, as I was the one who managed to pursued Lacy Sunshine to sponsor us, is Hats/Valentines
The image I was allocated was the gorgeous Victorian Lizabeth and as shes not suitable for a valentines card, decided to use Distress Marker pens that I had brought from the NEC back last November but hadnt used! I loved using them and will be using them more and more in the future, I fully recommend them. I went with the softer & pastel colours to give more of a softer look to the whole card.  I also followed a sketch theme as I wanted to enter this card into a craft magazine challenge.
I used a Docrafts heart shaped doily and coloured parts of it in one of the Distress Markers to compliment the greens/beiges I had used on the image. I cut this in half so it could be seen properly on both sides of the topper & added a smallish piece of gold coloured stretchy mesh to add some texture. The backing papers (including the matt pearlescent gold paper) is from my own stash along with the cotton lace, faux green gems and the sentiment (which was shaped but cut to a rectangle). The finishing touch to this card, in my eyes, Is the banner with heart shaped holes that I placed in the top left corner, and the faux stitching that I made around the gold topper and the lace backing paper. The pennants I used are 3/4 of the whole die cut from a La La Land die which I have owned for a while now.
I hope you like this card...

A girly card..........

Hiya peeps

Another girly card for you, this time using a beautiful, free at the time, digi from Di's Digi Stamps, and shes called "Picking Tulips".
I have made this card for one of my step granddaughters birthday this weekend. Mya will be 3 on Sunday and Im sure she will love this card and the verse I have printed off for inside..
I have also followed a sketch for a magazine publication which will be sent via email to the Craft Magazine.  I have veered off the sketch slightly but that is allowed as long as the layout is seen as near to the original sketch as possible.
The backing papers are all from my own stash and vary between 12x12 in and A4. I used Grand Scalloped Rectangle dies, a flower trio set of dies (manufacturer unknown) and a fancy spellbinders rectangle label die. (I didnt keep the packaging for any of my older dies but I do now for labelling purposes. The image was coloured using Promarkers only and the shocking pink edged ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons website of which I am on the design team also. The sentiment & faux pearl flowers are also from my own stash.

I am entering this card in to the following challenges:

I love Promarkers Challenge Blog #242 theme is HOBBIES ends Tuesday 20th Jan - Gardening/Flower Arranging

A DT application as though I was writing an email.......

My name is Margaret (I prefer to be called Marg) & I would like to apply to be a member on your
Design Team please.
I am a 53 year old disabled (single parent to a 17 year old daughter), unable to work due to various, quite serious disabilities in my spine & various other ailments including a lesser known form of Muscular Dystrophy which is an inherited progressive genetic disease but is not life threatening.  I therefore craft to keep my mind & hands creative. Ive always been creative anyway, but I know I just cant sit & watch television or on the laptop all day everyday, equally I am unable to work due to immense pain. Crafting is my therapy, my life.
My creative streak has always been with me, (drawing, sewing, cross stitch) but only the last 6 years have I been creating cards good enough to sell. I have improved so much, getting both creative & better over the years.
Creating a papercraft project now, I'm very lucky that I can pick up a piece of scrap craft material & put a card together using that one piece., equally though, I can follow a sketch &/or theme to the letter or diversify when needed.
Why you should choose me:  I can diversify from clean & simple to "decorative", I complete all of my projects on time & to the letter of instruction.  I am at home all day/most days due to not being able to work which gives me the natural daylight (plus my Ottlite lamp) to give me the best possible finish to my colouring. I have 45+ Graph It pens + my Promarkers & Flexmarkers give me a good range of colours to use. I like to think that I am good at colouring in any image. Lastly, I have no particular style, but I can honestly say, that I do love stamping & colouring with alcoholic pens & occasionally with watercolour pencils.  I use digi stamps as well as rubber stamps, and have a very wide range of both.
I am on to the DT of Crafty Ribbons, a website with Pure Inspiration, a basic blog, a Challenge blog. and a Facebook page for the DT. I accepted this position on May 7th 2014.
I am currently on the DT for Crafting Musketeers Challenge Blog & a member of their DT Facebook group:
where I have been a member since October 2nd 2013
PREVIOUS: where if firstly a Guest DT member for a 2 months term, then on the main team for a further 3 months until I decided to end this partnership as I accepted a Wedding Stationary commission which will be taking up a certain amount of my time.
Stampin' For The Weekend Challenge Blog & a member of their Facebook group:
where I have been a member since the end of August 2013 & is ended in July due to time restrictions from the coordinator.
DigiStamps4Joy from May 2013 - !st October 2013 as my term was over.
Guest DT for Quirky Craft for a 2 month challenge period of time. I have been told to apply in the future should any permanent positions should be come available.
My blog can be found at:

A Spring Bling card in pinks and teals

Hiya peeps,

Another week has gone by and Im getting better, Over Christmas & NewYear, when I was ill. Luckily the bad chest infection I had, is almost gone. Back to the important reason why Im
writing about the beautiful card shown below ......

As my followers know, Im a disabled single parent who will not be able to
work ever again so I craft for the majority of the day (when Im well enough)
making cards and some upcycling/altered art. I have been crafting for most of
my life, (Im now in my 50's), I can sew both by hand & machine,
and I also used to enjoy cross stitch, some embroidery and painting. I have
been papercrafting for the past 6 years since I had to stop working.
I need to keep my mind & hands occupied.
I am already on two DT's, which I love to take part with:
I was/still am on the DT for A Crafty Mess Challenge Blog but the blog & Facebook
account seem to have disappeared and non of my fellow DT ladies know what has
happened. We cant even get in touch with the admin/founder of the blog.

Well, Im posting today with a card that I have made for a DT (design team) call over at
Tiddly Inks. Im in love with a great deal of their fabulous images, whether they are
digital or clear rubber.

I love the image, Wryn Spring Bling, and decided that I would use my favourite colours
(for cards) at the moment in pinks and teals.. So after colouring her in a mixture of
Graph It and Promarker alcoholic ink pens, I was extremely pleased with the outcome of
Wryn. I then cut Wryn out using a Spellbinders Labels One die set and once I had found the
size of die I needed, proceeded to cut out the shape.
As you can see I also cut 3 other Labels One but in the larger "Grande" sizes. I layered them
using foam pads and then stuck the decorative hat pins in the one corner with the small
organza ribbon bow. Closely followed by the pink patterned paper, which is from the Me2You
range of papercrafting essentials. I then stuck a piece of organza ribbon, just slightly longer
than the height of the card, Stick this down with sellotape on the reverse, topping with a bead
strip which, in the case of the strip I used is very sparkly!
The cherry blossom flowers are from a fabulous company called Wild Orchid Crafts and the gardenias are from my own stash.  The sentiment was stamped on to plain white card and
then cut around to be glued to the lightly embossed teal card stock, matt & layered with the
mirror card and the 3 faux pearls were all from my own stash too.
I hope you like this creation as much as I do.
Im really hoping that I can get on the wonderful & very talented Design Team.

DT cards for a challenge blog that seems to have disappeared!!!!!.....................

Happy New Year peeps, and my sincere thanks for all of your support during the last 12 months,

I must also sincerely apologise for not replying to any of your wonderful, and complimentary comments. It seems as though Blogger or even my laptop dont want me to comment, not only
on your comments but also when I want to comment on other peoples blogs or even competitions!!!

My fellow DT members of "A Crafty Mess" challenge blog, like me, are so worried as we cant locate the challenge blog or the Facebook group we have just for our communications, and we cant get hold of Teighan our lovely and wonderful leader and creator of the challenge blog!!! If anyone does contact her can you please ask her to contact anyone of us.

We will, of course, post the challenge blog when or if we find out what has happened to make it disappear...

Right, even though the challenge blog has disappeared Im still going to show you the 3 cards I made from the 3 sponsors of our lovely blog for this month (January). The sponsors are:

Beccy' Place    Sami Stamps Shop    and    Sparkle N Sprinkle

I hope you like these cards, seeing they were made in such a rush, the foxes lying in the grass will be a birthday card for one of my elder sisters whose birthday it is this coming week. Im sure she will love it as her surname just happens to be Fox...

The cards I made are....,,,
