The Lion & A Lamb

Me again peeps and yes, Ive got another creation for you.

This time by the talented Gerda Steiner and this is a free image she has given out so we
can enter her Blog Challenge here
I chose a simple landscape card with just a piece of slightly embossed looking pink ribbon called Cubist Light Pink bargain roll of 10m for just £1 and its a good width at 15mm. I brought this from a clearance section of Crafty Ribbons (that link will take you right to the ribbon itself on their fabulous jam packed website!!!).

To coordinate with the light pink ribbon I chose a pink card from Papermill Direct. Its called Baby Pink at 240gsm weight. I also chose an odd sheet of yellow card that I had which matches perfectly with the darker parts of the lion... The only other item that I found in my own stash is the "hi" sentiment which I know is from Polkadoodles as it was on a sheet with other sentiments. I just coloured the outer edge in a grass green (the same colour pen as the "grass" under the lion & lamb) to go with the rest of the card, but Im thinking as an after thought that maybe it was the wrong colour green!!!
I wanted to make this as a Clean & Simple card and so I didnt add anything else....
I hope you like this cute little card as much as I do (if not please contact me via my email or leave a comment below). If, however, you do like it, I would really appreciate you sharing this blog or my Facebook page please ;0 x

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

A Purple Passion of a card

Good Morning peeps,

A quiet Sunday lies ahead for me, still involving crafting but with my teenage daughter staying upstairs to finish off some college work & Reggie (my handsome dog) will be with her if I know him.

My project to show you this morning is a rubber stamp that I thought I had lost, which is why youve not seen it before (on one of my creations anyway). ...................
Its a Gorjuss girl stamp called "A Little Birdie Told Me" designed by Suzanne Woolcott in 2009 (according to the label on the original bag that the stamp come in).

I decided to go with my favourite colours for this little lady (purples) & also because a couple of challenges I have seen that I might enter.

I stamped Gorjuss on to a piece of super smooth white card using a mixture of Promarkers & Graph It's, and then die cut her out with one of many Spellbinder dies that I own., I also die cut the 3 layer "flower" in the top left hand corner, the banner & the leaf. That should make sure Im in with the rules of a particular blog challenge that I wish to enter using this card.
Matt & layered with card of different weights, a doily cut into 4 so I can lay them down under the dotty lilac card. The sentiment & topper it sits on are from my own stash as are the flat backed pearls in the 2 diagonal corners.

The new part of this challenge is the white slightly embossed base card from Papermill Direct, I only received this stash last month.
The neglected part of this challenge has got to be the rubber stamp itself (with me loosing it for so long,.... it must be a good 3 years!!!!

I followed a sketch for this creation, It, again, is for a particular blog challenge that I am going to enter using this card.
I hope you like what you see....

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sketch N Stash Challenge, of which the theme is: Follow Sketch No 39

Stampin' For The Weekend Challenge No 10........

Hiya peeps,

Hope everyone is ok? Ive had an eventful time during this last 2 weeks since the last challenge but it turned out ok in the end. My teenage daughter had a fab birthday spread out over a few days starting out with 6 friends (most from college) coming round on the Saturday evening for drinks & eats. I think the last person to go home went at 12.30am and then the only friend she had staying over (as she didnt live locally) finally settled down to sleep around 1.30am. It made a really good change though to hear my daughter laughing so much!!

Back to today's card for the Stampin' For The Weekend Challenge Blog.

The theme for this challenge is "For The Girls" which means anything Female.  I chose a beautiful digi image called Lizabeth Butterfly Wishes from Lacy Sunshine Stamps and coloured her with my Promarkers, Spectrum Noirs and a couple of Sakura Gelly Roll pens (one of which was a glitter pen).
I decided on a twisted easel late the night before so I made myself a little note to remind myself. I think it suits this image expertly!! The colours, pinks, purples & spring greens are my favourite colours for the spring/summer and during the autumn/winter I prefer using darker/brighter range of plums, orange, red, browns & darker greens.
All card stock used is from Papermill Direct and the majority of the flowers are from Orchid Crafts. The pink with white hearts paper is from a Forever Friends paper pad (of which Ive lost the cover to). The thin purple ribbon come from a fabulous company called Crafty Ribbons and to find the same ribbon click here
Everything else that I used (not mentioned) are from my own stash,.
The finishing touch was the 2 stick on faux gems on the Butterfly antenna. I really hope you like the finished result as much as I do.

My 1st DT card for Fitztown

Hiya peeps

A warm welcome to you all from me, Marg of Crafty Cards By Marg. Im very lucky to be a Guest Design Team member, my first project for the fabulous challenge blog of Fitztown Challenge Blog. The theme this time is: Thank You.
I was very warmly given the image of Country Scenes 5 (which is available from the store by clicking on the name of the image above).

Next Monday, Memorial Day (May 26), I'm hopping with the talented Fitztown Design Team. We're celebrating! It will be 52 weeks of challenges on the Fitztown Challenge Blog. And, it will be quite a celebration -- great inspiration from the team, and prizes to be won from those hopping along. Please join us!

I am very very proud to have been chosen to design for Fitztown, their welcome was extremely warm & very friendly, and the help Ive been given is enormous

I also made this card for my teenage daughters dad, whos birthday it is today (20th May). He would love to live on a narrow boat & when I saw this beautiful, tranquil image I thought, yes, it does suit him. (I did change the sentiment "Thank You" to "DAD" after I took the main photos for the challenge blog, hence the first photo)

I used:
1 x A4 sheet of blue Papermill Direct card
1 x 8x8 inch sheet of blue spotted paper from my stash
1 x 8x8 inch sheet of white spots on blue paper from my stash
silver embossed card scraps from my stash
blue lace from my stash
Matt gold die cut "Thank You" using Tattered Lace dies
And finally, the beautiful image from Fitztown....  coloured with Graph It & Promarker alcoholic pens.

I hope Ive done it justice....

These following photos were taken before I changed the "Thank You" to "DAD"

For all the details about this easel card, and the supplies I used, or to see what else I’ve been creating, please visit my blog here.

Mid Way reminder projects for Crafting Musketeers Challenge (Anything But Square)

Crafting Musketeers challenge blog's theme this month is: Anything But Square

I have placed photos of 2 cards on here as I had forgotten that I had already made one card so I made another. Fran, one of our DT coordinators has uploaded both on our challenge blog.
This first card:
The image is taken from the cdrom Simpler Times. Brought to us crafters by Katy Sue Designs (our sponsors for this month) but all the images are designed by Elisabeth Bell (who is one of my favourite designers).
You can see on the photos below more or less what I have done & used. The pens I have used are Promarkers and Graph It's. I cant remember all the colours I used but the girls blouse & trousers are coloured in Promarkers Buttercup, Primrose & Lemon with a slight touch of Graph It No, 2105.

This 2nd card is based on a free download (one of 4 available) from Katy Sue Designs website but  for this & other free downloads click HERE.
I used the Little Bo Peep Has Lost Her Sheep download and then matt & layered it as shown in the photos below. I didnt have to do any colouring on this so it was supposed to be a quick card but with all the embellishments on it, it took hours!!! Even with using my new glue gun (that I had for Christmas but only just opened it lol) it still took ages to decide where & how I was going to place all the different flowers that I wanted to add to give the image a "country cottage" feel to the whole card.

I will apologise now for the quality of the image but Im fast running out of printer ink  (on order now) & I had to rely on getting down to the bottom of the cartridges lol.

I hope you like both of the cards I have made for this challenge mid way reminder. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask away.

My First Creation For Crafty Ribbons

Good Morning peeps,

Yes, this is my first DT (Design Team) post for the fabulous company called Crafty Ribbons
and I am very honoured to be part of their company & blogs...

I made the following card using a digi stamp supplied by the DT coordinator, which I had to use, but the theme was Googly Eyes so it made sense!! Lol, I could wait to get colouring the rooster
and being male, I had to colour him in blues and then decided that I would make a Son's First Birthday card. (I dont know who for though lol). I suppose I could sell it.

Seam binding & plastic buttons (butterfly, worm, flower in tub, fork & trowel) from the website of Crafty Ribbons..

A wedding card

Hiya peeps

I wanted to show you a card that I made recently but didnt show you... up until today!!
Its a wedding card I made for the daughter of my friends Lynn & Kevin. Ive been friends
with Lynn for just over 40 years as we went to High School together & I was with Lynn the
night she met Kevin at a town hall disco!!! Well in them days our parents were a lot stricter
than most & we werent allowed to go to the nightclubs so we had to make do with the next best thing which was a Friday night disco in nearby Longton (Stoke on Trent) Town Hall.  That was
when we lived in a town called Blythe Bridge (Stoke on Trent) well Lynn & Kevin still live there.

Anyway, their 2nd child, daughter Rebecca got married on 14th April this year to a lovely guy called Marty and this is the Wedding Day card I made for them using a beautiful image by
Digi Stamp Boutique
I wanted to make the bride panda more like a bride so I made her a dress that was full length
using my promarker Navy as the bridal colour was blue. I thought it was navy as the invitations
were navy based but no, it was a pale baby blue. I was so disappointed when I saw the wedding
photos (I was too ill with my disabilities to attend the reception).
Its a large size easel card cut using my Grand Decorative Circle dies.
I hope you like it ;0

Stamping For The Weekend: Challenge #9, Use the photo for inspiration

For this fortnights challenge, number 9 start date is May 9th...
We are challenged by this as all we had to inspire us is a photo collage of 6 pics & 4 colour splats.

They are all very beautiful colours though as I adore purples & the coordinating colours especially when card making.

This is an A6 card (which I dont make very often) which came already embossed with a pale peachy pink. The image was coloured with Promarkers (Cool Grey, Saffron, Lobster Pink) Flexmarkers (Glacier Blue, Icicle) & Spectrum Noir's (Pastels selection: HB1, HB2, IB1, FS1, LG1, LG2). As I didnt have exactly the right colours to match I had to use similar from all the alcoholic pens that I have in my stash. The Spectrum Noirs are a new set that I brought this last week from when Create & Craft TV had a Bank Holiday Weekend special deals on.  I only brought the pastels set as I have a real good selection of Promarkers & Graph It pens but quite low on the pastel shades.  The LOTV image was a joy to colour. I cant remember where I got this image from but I know it did come along with some other images from LOTV (possibly a freebie from a craft magazine??).

Happy Birthday to

Yes, Polkadoodles are 5 years old this month, a BIGGGG HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY to them and heres to many many more years of creativity!!

To celebrate Nikky has decided to have a mini blog hop with 6 blogs in all to go through, and they include Polkadoodles, Nikky herself & the original 4 members of Nikkys first Design Team and who are still members!!!!
I quote:
I'd just like to take the opportunity to thank all of you for supporting us over the past 5 years, we've seen so many changes in the industry and we still love what we do and it's so awesome that you keep on supporting us along the way, so huge thanks from Myself and Kris, but also from the Polkadoodles team too.

One thing that completely warms my heart is how I have made some wonderful, true friends along this crafty journey and I am so proud that Louise Sims and Ruth Cunliffe who were with me from day one at Polkadoodles are still here to this very day! And now of course, very very dear friends forever! 2 other people also very dear to me are Enfys Cashmore and Kath Stewart who also were on that very first team and who are still great buddies of mine - HUGE HUGE thanks to these 4 very special people who helped me get Polkadoodles off the ground way back when there were hardly any blogs around and even less blog Challenges - we've certainly seen things change along the way! And it goes without saying that the Design Team members throughout the years and the current team who are just awesome are also thanked from the bottom of my heart for all the hard work they put in for us week in, week out.
We thought we needed something special to celebrate our 5th Birthday....
So I decided to celebrate I would design a special Digistamp for each of us 5 'Originals' along with a great little paper bundle which was also designed specifically for each teamie to co-ordinate with their kind of stylee. They are TOO stinking cute!!
So, we are inviting you along to our
mini Blog Hop
