An Alien is about?......

Hiya peeps

An alien is called Saucer Head which is a fun digital image from

I had printed this digi as just under A5 size so I thought that this
needed something else from it, that wasnt a card.... that lead me to
grab a photo frame and think about what I could do.
I knew it was really too big for a nice birthday card for a child,
in my eyes anyway. I wanted to be different and then it hit me,
use the pencil coloured image in a picture., against a background
of stars and the galaxy.

I know im not correct in my background but my resources, at home,
are limited. I did have the frame spare as I never used it for its intended use., I had plenty of black card stock, acrylic paint and brushes. All I had to do was to use a stencil to make the stars. Well that was the problem, I couldnt find my stencils!! They had been "tidied up" last week by my carer and now I dont know where they
are., so I thought of an alternative, to use my newly brought Tim Holtz Thinlets die of "Swirling Stars".  I thought & tried, on a piece of scrap black card first, using my Tonic Studios "Nuvo Embellishment Mousse" (which adds metallic dimensional details to your craft) in Cornflower Blue stickling the paste through the die but according to my daughter I had to use a flat brush & paste it over. On the main piece of black card, cut to just under A4, I needed to first, use white watercolour paint flicked on to the black card to form what should be the very small stars way back in the sky. then I went over the die with the mousse to form the stars in 2 different areas of the card, painting a couple of unlikely looking planets and a sort of black hole (with the string of stars painted 4 times on the bottom right corner).
I then used different colours of acrylic paints and got the hand of it all. The end result looks better close up than in the photos through the glass of the frame. Not a bad result for my first attempt!

I wish to enter this project in to the following challenges:

Not a nice card to give...

Hiya peeps

Todays card is not nice to give as its for sympathy,
or a death. I used a paper decoupage kit that came
in a pack of two different images. Lilies were chosen
by my daughter, Tia, who was giving the card to a service
users of hers. The husband was the very first one that
Tia visited on her rounds of community carer for the same
company that she still works for.
A very simple card was all that was needed, in my opinion,
I dont think many people will disagree with that. A piece
of cream hammered effect card stock was folded in half, a piece of brown organza ribbon was tapped to the back of a piece of dusky pink lightweight card stock and then stuck down on to the base card. I added a ribbon bow from the same batch as the other using silicone glue gel.
I then topped the whole card with a die cut decorative circle, to which, I had already stuck down the decoupaged picture. To finish the card I just glued the two words: For You and then a suitable verse
printed on to an A4 sheet of pearlescent paper.
I hope you like the card, even though I knew Tia was quite upset of loosing the lovely gentleman that her service
user was, and that she wouldnt have any need to visit the wife anymore.

Im a GDT again for The Outlawz...

Hiya peeps

Another make for The Outlawz

The twist this week is to add/use: Plaid...

I was asked to use a digital image from one of this
years sponsors and I chose an image from
She is a joy to colour, to which, I used the metallics mostly
from my set of pencil crayons. I cut her out from the 255gsm smooth white cardstock that I had printed the digi image on.  Once she was cut out, I used double sided foam pads to stick Penny on to a ready due cut oval topper that I had previously die cut (using Tonic Studios mini scalloped ovals). I had already got a 30cm square piece of plaid or tartan paper in my stash. I couldnt have been more delighted. This plaid piece of paper was stuck on to plain black card, both of which I had rounded all 4 corners. After adding the backing papers to the base card. I then opted to use the wide copper coloured ribbon scrap piece (just enough to go across the card), the tartan ribbon bow, pearls  in 2 shades of green, an inverted corners die cut rectangle topper in cream hammered card and the Tonic Studios die cut  "Merry Christmas" sentiment to finish off.

Im a Guest Design Team Member for....

Hiya peeps

Yes I am a GDT again today for....

The theme this week is Plaid!
So being of a Scottish theme I went for an A5 portrait style
card in a cream hammered effect card, rounding the corners to
give a better effect with the topper. I cut a piece of 12 x 12 inch
of green mirror card and topped that with the piece of plaid paper that I had already stuck on a piece of wide coppery coloured ribbon to it.
Again that was a 12 x 12 inch to begin with and the corners were
rounded. I had the beige gingham checked oval die cut topper cut
already (I have quite a variety in a tub lol). Its a mini scalloped oval die cut using the Tonic Studios set. After colouring
Penny Dragon Christmas Pudding using blue, green & silver
metallics from my set of 160 pencil crayons, I then stuck her
to the oval topper using 2mm foam tape and again on to the actual
card over the top of the wide coppery coloured ribbon.
The "Merry Christmas" is die cut, again from Tonic Studios, then stuck onto a Spellbinders die cut topper, cut from the same cream
hammered effect cardstock (from Papermill Direct's website) using Collall photo glue. That was stuck on to the actual card using the
same 2mm foam tape. I finished the card off using the 3 coloured
pearls in 2 shades of green and the tartan (or Plaid) ribbon bow.

I hope you like the finished card...

A Fairy New Baby....

Hiya peeps

Todays post is just over a day late, so, I sincerely apologise for that error on my part. I just clean forgot again.

This make is well worth the wait though as its a super cute digi!!

This post is about The Outlawz Challenges Monday Greeting

where the theme this week is Anything Goes. The Challenge
closes next Sunday, check out the details via the link above.
November is "sponsor appreciation month" so we as a DT/GDT
can use images from which ever sponsor we wish. I found a delightful image Fairy Clothesline by Patties Creations on Etsy
My make today is a take on the very popular double Joy card.
At least I think thats what its called..

As like most of my cards, its a large size (but Ive not got the

card anymore to measure) using cardstock from
Papermill Direct. All ribbon & lace are from different sources
Die cut sentiments/words using Tonic Studios.
The only thing I cant show you with the card, is the fact that
I clean forgot about taking a photo of the card standing up
showing the main opening where the verse will go!! I will make
sure that my photos are better on the next post

I wish to enter this card into the following challenges:

GUEST DT number 2 for

Hiya peeps

The Outlawz are asking for Guest Design Team members for most of the weekly challenges (each day of the week is a different challenge so each person can, if they wanted to,
enter a different make for each day!).
Can you remember, 10 days ago, that I said:
I answered one of their ads for the Monday Greetings Challenge. Within a day I received a lovely reply asking if I would join them as a GDT for the whole month, but I could only commit for 3 weeks out of this month of November. The best of it was, that I was asked to be on, not one, but two of the days!!! I delighted in saying yes, I would,
but, again only for 3 weeks out of the four. Check
in later in the month for that post...
Well today is that day!!
Oh, there is also a monthly progressive challenge where
you just email the coordinator and you will receive a free
digi to use, no matter what day of the month..

Taken from the website of The Outlawz:
First, I would like to give a little bit of history how The Outlawz was created. Over the years we have been in groups where there was drama and innocent people were dragged into it. So The Outlawz was created, a place where people could meet and share their crafting in a less stressful and more friendly atmosphere.....
....The Outlawz is a place to learn and share crafting with friendly chatter and we work hard to keep it that way.
We welcome all new members and are so happy you have joined us. Let’s keep the integrity of The Outlawz as a friendly, respectful place where we share our creativity.
Thank you,
Colleen Holmes,
Creator of The Outlawz
I was pointed towards the sponsors websites to choose
free digis to use for the Twisted Thursday challenges
and out of all of them, I decided to go with one delightful
little girl from Polkadoodles called:
Lil' Miss Sugarpops 2
Of course, she wasnt free, lol, I had to fall in love with her, I had to have her, so I paid just £2.25 for the black & white digi but you could buy the precoloured image of
Lil' Miss Sugarpops 2, that would cost the same price. Now hows that for a bargain!!

This weeks twist is a RECIPE:

1 digital image

2 Patterned Papers
and
3 Embellishments

I hope that you like the whole card but also how Ive coloured the image in, using pencil crayons as normal.
The little swirls in the corner are cut outs from a die
cut strip that I had previously cut (in lilac). The lilac
"bits" sticking out of the dark pink circle are a largish
die cut (from Tonic Studios) and I cut it into 4 pieces,
but I only used 2. The white fancy topper, from the same set, has a Tonic Studios die cut phrase/sentiment in pink glued on. The 2 large circles are cut using Spellbinders, the strip is just cut with my guillotine. The white lace is stuck down using silicone glue gel, which I also used to stick the image down after I fussy cut around her. The white flower shaped lace and the individual flower are from a website called The Ribbon Girl (I love that site!!). The white button, bottom right hand corner, is from my own stash.
My recipe ingredients are:
1 Digi Image
2 Patterned Papers
and
3 Embellishments (lace, button & flower)

Well I hope you like this fun Birthday card. I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

A Winter's Tale Of Gorgeous Beauty

Hiya peeps

I know its been a couple of weeks, or seems
so much longer but I have been busy!! Ive not
done a lot, but what I have done is, really
done fantastically!

Today's post is about my position of DT member for
Not Just Cards Challenge Blog
as always, our monthly challenge is themed as:
Anything Goes.

Todays card is so gorgeous, and Im not blowing
my own trumpet....My own carers & a friend of mine
have all fallen in love with it, commenting how
beautiful it is. I dont think you will be disappointed.

In the center of this beautiful/gorgeous card is
a print of a painting by Pollyanna Pickering, a renowned, award winning of so many, world wildlife artist.
This Tiger is from the Snow & Ice Collection that has
been lovingly put together for us crafters and even though
I brought my collection a few years ago via Create 'n' Craft TV, but the different collections are available via various websites including Ebay, Grafton Crafts to name just two.
Watch my blog for further projects made using this and other collections that are available and just as gorgeous.

This is a very "busy" card even though its an A5 landscape make, its also photo heavy too (for which I apologise).

There are only 3 new items used in this project, and they are the delightful real red berries(that I had picked on my way home from a visit to the Ambulatory clinic the day before), the two largest snowflakes are new too, being Sizzix/Tim Holtz cutting dies and were brought from
Hochanda TV this last month (October 2018).
Everything else is from my own stash.

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog is important this month, if you are wanting to join a challenge blog's Design Team.
