A Retail Therapy's Dream Card.........

Good Morning peeps,

Yes, I was busy yesterday and the day before.... I spent 6 hours of my Sunday creating a card that I thought was for Friday but the customer's mother was going to be 60 the following day!!!! Oooppss.... I did manage to create a beautiful card though and that is shown in the previous post on here.
Yesterday I was busy finishing off a card for a regular customer, Stacey, who, this time wanted a large shoppers dream card for her boyfriends mum. The woman concerned loved to shop for herself mainly, with sometimes shopping for other people and Stacey had taken shine to a previous card similar like the one below so I made a few different things about this one.

Basically I had to change all of it, but as in changing the style of dresses, a banner instead of a layered circle with flower top, the types of card used for the decorative layered die cuts for the charm shoe, the perfume bottle is a die cut one (from Tattered Lace Dies), a different style of lipsticks, shopping bags. I have placed the original card(on the right-21st birthday) next to the new one so you can see for yourself
They are quite different but still the same style which my customer, Stacey, wanted. The change of pearls on the shoe are my idea as I didn't have enough of the large white flat backed pearls that I used on the original.
Luckily Stacey loves the new version just as much as the original (but she has only seen photo). As for me? I like the new version as its not so cluttered, but this style of card is not one of my favourites.
I hope you might like it though??
Until another day, I will say bye and leave you with the photos...... (remember that the original 21st Birthday card is on the right)

A Mother's 60th......

Today's special make - A 60th Birthday Card for a customer's mum.

A "simple" bouquet of roses in pinks, red's & wine/burgundy colours tied with red satin ribbon and a red organza triple looped bow..

These were stuck on to a fancy edged piece of ivory & pastel burgundy organza over the top of a piece of pink card cut in to a scalloped & flowered edge circle (cut with my Martha Stewart circle cutter) (Boy do I love that little machine!!!)

A large 10x10 inch boxed card is the finished result.... I love it and I hope you do too
Please leave a comment if you do, I would appreciate it!!!

Stamping For The Weekend Challenge Autumn/Fall colours

Hiya peeps from a cold Staffordshire town.... Ive just had my monthly online shopping order delivered and I am so cold that the heating has had to go back on...to almost 20c.
Bugaboo stamps
Well, the challenge theme this time is Autumn/Fall colours sponsored, very kindly by Bugaboo Digital Stamps and Scrappiness.
I have chosen to use a Bugaboo stamp that I already own called WOB Caterpillar and I coloured him with my Graph It markers and then cut it out closely to the outline.
I die cut loads of leaves, different shaped ones on different papers.  On the orange base card, I cut & mounted 2 pieces of dark green & brown patterned papers that I got free with a magazine from the NEC Hobbycrafts exhibition last Thursday. I mounted a piece of wide brown lace around the pieces of mounting papers, topped that with a piece of strong open weave net/burlap and then glued the different coloured paper leaves & a few wired plastic leaves on to the burlap. The caterpillar was then stuck on top using Pinflair glue gel.
I didnt bother with a sentiment as there is no need to add anything to this........ the inside can be used as a notelet or just a simple thank you card....

Entering a blog challenge (not done this for a while)

Good Morning peeps!!

I wanted to use my new triple cd boxed set of the wonderful artist Joanna Sheen. It is a House Mouse boxed set which covers all occasions and Christmas. The image I used was called "Sweet Stuff" which I decoupaged the chocolates but not the mouse. The papers are both from my stash, the ribbon is from a group of multi coloured ribbons, all on  reels & in brown display/storage racks. Unfortunately now, they are no where big enough to hold all of the ribbons I have brought since!!!  Back on track to the House Mouse....
The silver edged lilac ribbon was brought from my favourite supplier on Facebook. The Happy Birthday words are pink glitter peel offs, the backing papers & card are all from my own craft stash.
The tent fold is something I haven't used for a while and I think it really suits this card.

I am entering this card into the Joanna Sheen Challenge called: Food For Thought

Commision Order (one of four).... October 2013

Hiya peeps. I know, a good few days since my last blog!  Well, I don't think you will
be disappointed by the card I have detailed & shown below. I, for one, am completely
pleased with the result, as I never did think it would come out so well.
It is an 8 x 8 inch white card stock base with a printed insert of a lovely verse as the card is
from an 88 year old mum to her daughter. The theme to the card is because the daughter loves
to sew, more so quilting I was told so I am really hoping that both mum & daughter love the
finished result.

A list of ingredients:
2 x A4 sheets white smooth 225 gsm card stock (mine was from Papermill Direct)
image in black & white was downloaded from Google as I searched for sewing
Backing papers (6x6 inch) from Craft Creations called Make & Mend in a 24 sheet pack

The tag is made from a new die set from Tonic Studios Ltd., which I backed with a silver
foil flourish embossed card from my own stock. The die set is called Indulgence Mannequin
Tag Die and is made to fit in to the Indulgence Chic Antique Oval Tag die or the Indulgence
Tres Belle Tag Square. There are more dies made to fit into the Oval or Square as they are
multi use. Check out the Tonic Studios website for more details.

Charms: sewing machine (complete with Singer on it), tape measure and scissors  along
with the miniature (flat backed) cotton reels are from a website/Facebook page/shop front
called That Craft Place. Their shop front is in Eastbourne, West Sussex (contact details are
on their website including phone number).

The sentiment "Special Daughter" was stamped with a new stamps set brought out by
Stamps Away Completely Relative Stamp Set - Includes 53 Stamps. Its a fabulous set and I
fully recommend it as I will use every single one of those including the "step".

I fully recommend That Craft Place shop/website. Even though I don't live anywhere near Sussex, their customer services from the Facebook page is wonderful. I have yet to see any other shop
that offers the choice, the personal touch, the extra bit that both partners in life & work
(Lisa & Danny) give to every customer.

That is enough gabbling from me today.. I hope you still like the card, it is one of 4 cards to the same customer of mine.  Have a fabulous weekend peeps!! ;)

DT card for Crafting Musketeers Challenge Blog # 7

Good Afternoon peeps

Yes its that time, for Crafting Musketeers new challenge and this month's challenge is very kindly sponsored by Little Claire's Stamps !!!! Such a wonderful website and beautiful stamps (both digis & rubber)!!!!
The images & sentiment I used are from the Butterfly Flourish stamp set and is so beautiful that it is hard not to love.
This card that I made for this challenge, is so large it measures 20.5cm x 24.5cm!!!
I used 2 A4 sheets of Papermill Direct "sky blue" card (250gsm) and folded one piece at the DL fold line and then glued that to the other piece. I then cut it down in size before using a "new" Martha Stewart border punch that I have brought from a Facebook friend (along with the matching corner punch as its a punch-around-the-page set). The mounting pieces of card with the sentiment and butterfly are cut from the a Spellbinder die set (but I hate to say that I cant remember which set it is as I don't keep the packaging).
The last thing to go on the front was the 2 Chocolate Box ribbon bows with tails in white grosgrain.
On the inside, I stamped the 2 butterflies on to a piece of pale blue card (again from Papermill Direct) and then stamped around them both with the 2 different "greenery flourishes" that are included in the set. I coloured the images with soft pastel Promarkers and then edged the whole set with my new Pan Pastels!!!!! I matt & layered with a pearlescent paper and then stuck that to the pastel pink card which was finished off with the same white grosgrain ribbon along the width of the pink card.
Overall a beautiful card even if I say so myself!!! ;)
Please comment below, if you do like it/ if you would like to know more about this card or if you would like me to make you a card or something else... ;)

DT card for SFTW Challenge Blog, October 11, 2013, Anything Goes

Hiya peeps,

I know, Im late with this one. I have had such a busy week & again, Ive not been well. This "illness"
of mine is driving me mad!! CMT has such a lot to answer for but Im not going to get into that argument/disagreement tonight.

The challenge, over at Stamping For The Weekend Challenge Blog, is sponsored by the brilliant Stamp Fairy where, at the moment, they have a sale on to celebrate an anniversary.
I chose to use Molly Winter 2 in which I coloured her with my Graph It alcoholic pens, adding fine glitter to the "fur" parts of her top & boots.  I then used my newish Martha Stewart circle edge punch starter set with the snowflake attachment, once in white linen effect card and the other in a green dot embossed card from Brazill. I topped all of these onto a white version of the dot embossed card which is 12x12 inch square.
I finished it off with silver peel offs in various designs. I decided against using a sentiment as I felt it didnt need one. I more than likely will add a sentiment when I decide which Grandchild will be getting this card at Christmas.
I hope you like it as much as me! Good Luck with the blog challenge should you enter. We have fabulous prizes on offer to the chosen winners.

http://stampinfortheweekend.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/anything-goes.html will take you directly to the challenge post.....
