Crafters Companion Inspiration vol 2; Ballerina stamp

This beautiful image is made using a new stamp issued with volume 2 of Crafters Companion's project magazine called Inspiration.
Its a good name too as I enjoy reading through all the projects that are so detailed in instructions and photos to help even the beginner.

I used background papers that I had printed off from another love of mine, a Polkadoodles cdrom called Cherry Blossom Lane. I wanted to use the pinks, greens and light browns as they complimented the pink tutu so much. The pink daisies & bejazzled centerpiece are from my own stock, as is the doily, green grosgrain ribbon & the glitter stickers.

I used an A4 piece of white linen effect card from www.papermilldirect.co.uk & scored it on a DL fold line to create the card base. Everything was stuck down with either Colall glue gel or double sided tape all from my own stock.

I hope you like the finished card as much as I do. This card along with a lot of my other makes in my stock now, will be forwarded on to the troops of Afghanistan via a Facebook page Ive found today.
Operation Blue Witch Squadron which can be found here:
or if you dont have/use Facebook then click here:
Such a wonderful cause for a load of even more fabulous troops serving for our Queen and Country.

Thats all for tonight ladies....Im going to play some games on Facebook then go bed. Have a great evening and a fabulous Friday tomorrow! ;)

Elisabeth Bells stamp called "SISTERS"

Hiya peeps,

The theme is Pink & Green, I stamped an Elisabeth Bells World stamp called "Sisters" onto a piece of supersmooth 200gsm paper, I coloured them in using my Promarkers, Flexmarkers and my Sakura glitter pens that I had won on a Facebook giveaway shortly after the new year! A very welcome gift of a boxed set of pens that are Gelly Roll pens so are really easy to use.  This was used on the polkadots on the elder girls blouse, the belt and the stripes on her bandana.
I die cut the image using a Nellie Snellen die to give an added interest.
I added mulberry paper flowers topped with larger size faux pearls as the flower centers, a lovely dotty satin ribbon that was also a prize in a giveaway, its an Emerald green base ribbon with a darker green shiney dots on. Finally the last piece to go on is the Stampin Up sentiment.
I love this card and the sentiment is very apt for sisterly love.

Elisabeth Bells World Animal Antics entry number 2

Hiya peeps, coming up to the end of a weekend again, where does time go???

I decided to enter another card into the Elisabeth Bells World Challenge... this time using an image called "Playing with Lucky" from the new cdrom called "Simpler Times". This new cdrom is a joint effort between Katy Sue Designs and Elisabeth Bell to bring this cdrom, the first time Elisabeths images have been available on a cdrom!! I highly recommend it for any EB fan as its so easy to use and print off as many prints ready to colouring as & when needed. A cdrom takes up a lot less storage space than the same amount of stamps....
The yellow & green pieces of card are from my Brazzill basics bling stash., and the patterned papers are from a Polkadoodles cdrom called Cherry Blossom Lane. This is available here:  http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=5711
Ive coloured this image with my faithful Promarkers and the finishing touches were a wide piece of organza white ribbon which has crushed silk edges, as is the large bow. I added a strip of white scalloped edged lace to the top of the organza ribbon to add texture but I know you cant really see that. I topped this off with a large button/ribbon & thread flower and the last piece to go on was the single button to the top right hand corner.

I am entering the above card into the following challenge as my 2nd entry:

Polkadoodles/Studio12 Blog challenge 15 "April Showers"

Yes you heard right April Showers!! Very apt dont you think?? Even though its sunny outside.

The image I chose, I think along with a lot of other entries, is "Rainy Days" by Emma Canning whos digi images can be found at http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/index.php?cPath=689_720.

Ive coloured her with my Promarkers, using putty, blush and ivory for the skin/ Prussian, true blue and royal blue for the umbrella with a twist of a glitter pen for the handle and I added a trio of lighter blues for where the light has caught the umbrella. Browns, consisting of Umber, burnt umber and raw umber for the boots & finally pale blossom (Flexmarker), blossom for the over dress, lobster pink and shocking pink (Flexmarkers) for the underlying dress. The main card base is a lime green card from Brazzil Basics 12x12 Bling (Darks) range.
The underlying papers are all from a couple of Polkadoodles cdroms (Im sorry, I printed a load of different papers off last night so the cdroms are either: Cherry Blossom Lane or Sugar Plum Daisy).
The white cut out is a lattice effect die cut that I brought off ebay as I dont want to buy the die itself, the lace is out of my stash as are the mulberry paper flowers with plastic flower shaped coloured button in the center. The final embellishment which adds the overall Rainy effect are the clear Dew Drops, (also available from polkadoodles) which to me (and I hope you) looks like rather large rain drops!!

A "Beastie" Girl.............for Sherri Baldy's Beasties Blog

A "Beastie" girl is todays card...the image is from the Beastie range by Sherri Baldy and is available by clicking on the following link:
http://scrapbookstampsociety.com/categories.php?category=1-Artist-Sherri-Baldy&parent_id=1994

The image I used is part of an image called "My Kids" which is a design incorporating 3 children, brother and 2 younger sisters by the looks of things. I decided I only wanted the younger childs image for this card so I coloured it with my Promarkers and stuck it to the scalloped circle die cut.
I have usde 2 different types of mulberry paper flowers on this card and an embellished butterfly.
I dont know why I used this image or anything else on this card but I think that it comes together pretty well....

Little Claire's Designs stamped image

Its a "Spring & Sketch" blog challenge this month and my card above is my entry into it. Ive found out my only Little Claire's Designs stamp, and quickly stuck him to an acrylic block, stamped him out. Then coloured with my promarkers.. The cream card scalloped circle was then edged with a Distress ink, Victorian Velvet colour to give it definition. I cut a piece of crushed white satin edged ribbon to fit across the width & tied a seperate piece into a large bow.
The finishing touches were the flower shaped large faux pearls and the mulberry paper magnolia type flowers . Over all, the theme of Spring and Sketch is featured well but all depends on the Little Claire's Design Challenge Blog. You can find the link below to take you to the challenge and Little Claire's blog. Hope you like the card, and I would appreciate a comment left please, if you have time.

A Beastie (Big Eyed Doll like) challenge to Think Pink!

Good Evening peeps,
Its a sunday in damp but not cold night Staffordshire (UK). Late on as almost midnight, but Im not so tired as I had an hours sleep this afternoon as I have to most days now. Thats all due to my disabilities and nothing else.

The blog challenge for this entry is "A Beasties Challenge to Think Pink" so thats just what I have done....all of the Beastie is coloured in different shades of pink lol.
I just used a cream hammered embossed card and topped it with a pink backing paper with white flowers on it. I then found 2 die cuts that I had previously cut in different pink papers, topped them with the cut out image of Frilly Lilly Messy Bessy (which can be found by clicking on this link: http://scrapbookstampsociety.com/auction_search.php?option=basic_search&basic_search=Frilly%20Lilly)
I then finished off with a medium sized satin ribbon in a pastel pink and a trio of polyester flowers secured with a pink brad. Not a bad card and will be sent to my friend of 30+ years for her birthday late next month. ;)

I wish to enter this card in to the following blog challenge:

Rhedd & Rosies Challenge Blog-week 4 Monochrome theme

Well peeps, this is, once again, one of those lovely times when Ive picked an item up and knew exactly what I wanted to do and Im really really pleased with the finished item!!.
This week it was the white/silver dotted black roses card. The ribbon was one of the first things to do and I cut a piece just slightly wider than the rose card and stuck it firmly to the back before the rose card was matt & layered on to a piece of 8x8 black pearlescent paper that I'd got and then stuck that to a white base card...
The next thing to do was to cut the black with white outline flowers and then stick that to the black die cut topper. Placing it was again, so easy. I just knew where I wanted it to go. I then made the ribbon bow and stuck it firmly into place with silicone glue gel and added the decorative pin (which was brought off ebay). The Happy Birthday topper is from my own stock again, just a pity that it wasnt in a bright white glitter but its a pale yellow/off white glitter background.
The finishing touch is the die cut filigree butterfly that is glued into place on the edge of the black topper.
A monochrome card/item is so easy to do and one of my favourite themes to recreate. Im just hoping I've managed to do myself proud with this card.

Kenny K's Krafty Krew Blog Challenge 138, to make Easel Cards

Good Morning Peeps,

Its a cloudy damp morning but Im really hoping that it clears up today....

The card I decided to make for this Easel Card Challenge was also combined with a commission order for a 6 year old footie fan! Killing 2 jobs with one I thought it was very apt.
I used the soccer boy digi image coloured with promarkers in Toby's actual kit colours of Royal Blue and white. I'm really hoping I got the colours the right way round!!! His boots were coloured with a metallic marker pen to add a twist. I used a topper from a magazine and added scrabble type letters to spell out the boys name. The next bit to do was the stopper for the card so it would not fall over. To make this I stuck a 3cm piece of pearlescent paper (with Happy Birthday printed on it in silver) onto a stiff piece of card just slightly smaller and then added a piece of ribbon from my stash which, as you can see, has footballs printed on it!! I didn't want to tie a bow with being for a boy so I placed a piece under the main strip and then secured using extra strong double sided tape.  This card will fold flat for postage & Ive yet to add a verse on the reverse of the slope that you can see in the first photo.

Elisabeth Bell's World Blog Challenge

Good Evening Peeps,

A cold damp evening here in Staffordshire, I dont think we will get a frost as its supposed to be quite warm tomorrow, (almost upto double figures!!) I hope it is as my good friends & ex neighbours are getting married tomorrow. Amy & Craig, I wish you well as you start your married life together.

Back to here and now, the blog challenge Im entering now is the Elisabeth Bell's World "Animal Antics" Challenge which runs until the 25th April.
I used a rubber stamp that I brought back last year. I just wish I could remember what the stamp is called! All I know is that its a Sugar Nellie stamp designed by Elisabeth Bell.
I used a Hunkydory card in red & gold stripe adorable striped card and scored it into an easel card.
The image was coloured using my Letraset Pro & Flex Markers pens, which I will never part with!!

I added paper faux roses and a ribbon bow at the side of the image.
The stopper for the top of the card is made by using a Spellbinder Die Tag with a Hapy Birthday banner coloured in with glitter markers.

Thats it for today! Other posts to come over the next couple of days...
;) xxx

A card for a wedding anniversary

Good Morning on such a beautiful sunny day!!!!

Ive decided to enter, today, the Karber Blog Challenge, at least. As always, you have to use one of their digi images. The challenge this time is to use your favourite craft item on the item you are submitting. My most favourite craft item to use is ribbon-I have, what must be over 1000m of assorted ribbons to choose from....I cant resist buying them when I see them hehehehehe.
As I needed to make a wedding anniversary card for one of my dear friends, Julie & her husband Rob, I decided to use the Bee Love digi image. I adore this image as its cute, versatile, and quite funny.
I coloured the image in using Letraset Promarkers & a glitter effect pen, called Clear Star, from the Gelly Roll range by Sakura.
I cut the corners off using an inverted corner punch adding 2 small faux pearl drops to the edge of each invert.
The dark burgundy ribbon, my favourite item, says Happy Anniversary on it in gold thread.
Altogether a pretty lovely card?? I think so anyway lol ;)
I would love you to leave a comment so I know whos visited this blog of mine...I will return the favour (if you have a blog) asap.
